OK Jaanu is an upcoming Indian romantic drama film directed by Shaad Ali and story, screenplay & produced by Mani Ratnam and Karan Johar under their banners Madras Talkies and Dharma Productions respectively.It is an official remake of Mani Ratnams Tamil film O Kadhal Kanmani starring Dulquer Salmaan and Nithya Menen.The film stars Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead roles,portraying a young couple in a live-in relationship in Mumbai with Naseeruddin Shah and Leela Samson play supporting roles as an older couple in the film, portraying the younger couples landlords. A. R. Rahman will compose the films score and soundtrack while Gulzar is the dialogue writer of this film.
The soundtrack and film score is composed by A. R. Rahman. Rahman re-used most of his compositions from the Tamil soundtrack of O Kadhal Kanmani, with the exception of three songs. Rahman has composed three new songs for the film and these songs will be used in place of Parandhu Sella Vaa, Sinamika and Malargal Kaetten that were part of Tamil version. Hamma Hamma song from the 1995 movie Bombay has been recreated by Badshah and Tanishk Bagchi.
